Working With Web Services

In-depth tutorial day: May 20, 2008 @ 09:00 – 12:00
Presented by: Rob Richards

Web services skills are becoming more frequently required for developers within their organizations. Using real-world scenarios and PHP 5, we will examine how to create and work with REST and SOAP based services, as well as how they might be leveraged within your own architecture. There are already many tutorials out there for this, but knowing the basics is no longer enough. Web services are not always so straight forward and you can't always find an answer in a manual.

Not only will we go into details of debugging and working through issues when dealing with services, but I will also introduce some additional tools and technologies, such as SDO/SCA and the yet to be released WSF for PHP extensions. These new and upcoming extensions are not only meant to provide for simpler development, but also allow for more powerful web services.
